PARIS EXCURSION

Outside the Palace of Versailles

Paris Excursion Dates: August 11-17, 2010
(7 days and 6 nights)

Ernest Hemingway once said, “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”

A cultural feast awaits scholars who elect to continue on to Paris. Prior to departure there will be an orientation meeting. Private air-conditioned coaches will depart from Cambridge with scholars, Director and staff. These coaches will be at our disposal during the entire stay in Paris. Departing from Dover by ferry, crossing the English Channel to the coast of France, and landing in Calais, we will continue our coach journey through Normandy to Paris, arriving at our hotel in Montmartre in early evening.

Scholars will have maps and their syllabus materials provided for visits to museums, so masterpieces, such as the Mona Lisa, may be easily located. Scholars do not need a knowledge of French to fully appreciate their visit to France.

The charge for this optional trip, including all fees and excursions, room and breakfast, transportation by coach and ferry from Cambridge to Paris and to Charles de Gaulle airport for departure, is $2300. This fee excludes breakfast on August 11 and August 17, lunches, dinners, and airfare home. Since limited spaces are available, this fee must be paid within 30 days of acceptance.
