Excursions

Excursions will be supervised by the Director and staff members. All scholars are required to be on all trips, unless sick. Four day trips will be taken to London for theatre in the West End, museums, sightseeing, and shopping. Sites visited in London will be the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Tower of London, the National Gallery and Portrait Gallery, the new Tate Modern, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Churchill’s War Rooms, and Covent Garden. Optional places scholars may visit are the British Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Geological Museum, and Harrod’s. Sites viewed on day trips will be Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Westminster Abbey. Two plays will be seen in the West End. Other day trips will visit Ely Cathedral, Stonehenge, Bath, and Warwick Castle.
