TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FOR BOTH THE Sunday excursion to London’s British Museum Travel arrangements may be made independently or, if you wish an agent familiar with and recommended by the Programme, through Mrs. Mary Levine at Lake Shore Travel, 337 Park Avenue, Glencoe, Illinois, 60022, telephone 800-835-5090 or 847-242-4034, e-mail mary@lakeshoretravel.com. Mary is available between 9am and 3pm Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday. She can handle travel itineraries for the Programme for both scholars and parents. Group travel with the Director, if desired, will be from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport to London’s Heathrow Airport on Wednesday evening, July 21, arriving Thursday morning, July 22. “Many thanks for a job well done. Laila and Sonia had a terrific experience at Cambridge and returned home with memories and friendships that they will forever cherish.”—ALFRED & MARY GRACE DANTAS Northborough, Massachusetts If you wish to make your own arrangements, use frequent flyer mileage, or use your own travel agent, you may do so, but all flights must arrive at either Heathrow or Gatwick no later than 11am. An extra charge of $100 will be assessed for special pickup of scholars arriving after that time. The Programme commences July 22. Mrs. Levine can make special arrangements for scholars who wish to fly directly to London to be on the same flight as other scholars leaving from major U.S. cities or to connect with flights with Director leaving from Chicago. She can also order special meals. All scholars making connecting flights through Chicago to fly with Director will be under Programme supervision during the flight. Travel forms will be provided to parents and must be completed and returned for all scholars whether flying from the U.S. or being dropped off and/or picked up in Cambridge or Paris, so that college room assignments can be made. SCHOLARS WILL NOT BE ASSIGNED ROOMS IN DORMITORIES AT CAMBRIDGE UNTIL TRAVEL FORMS AND FULL TUITION ARE RECEIVED. Parents who wish to travel to or from England with their scholars may drop off scholars in Cambridge on July 22 from 12-2pm, and may pick them up in Cambridge on August 11 before 9am. “Thank you for the opportunity for Nik this summer. We just received the diploma from Cambridge. He had a great time and is very keen to go back next year.”—TINA DHAR Edison, New Jersey Mrs. Levine can help with your travel arrangements as well. Details will be included in an information packet sent to parents at a later date. All scholars receive a Programme sweatshirt and t-shirt. One of these must be worn on the day of departure so that all members of the group can be easily identified at the airports. All scholars departing from cities other than Chicago will be met by staff and private coaches at both London’s Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. The Director and staff will confirm all scholars’ flights for their return on the morning of August 11 and arrange transportation to the airports by private coach. Staff and private coaches are available only on the scheduled days. Return flights should be scheduled to depart no earlier than 11am. The staff will assist scholars to the check-in desks at the airports. The Programme officially ends when scholars are dropped off at airports in London, or in Paris, if the scholar has chosen the Programme’s Paris excursion.
